ABOUT ME

Hi there, I am Tatiana and I am an ESL teacher.

I have been teaching for more than 10 years and have always enjoyed it immensly!

I have graduated the Urals Pedagogical University back in Russia in 1994 and now, after more than 20 years,  I have made a decision to go back to studying. I have enrolled in the TESL course from the University of Manitoba because I want to provide better service for my students and, also, because I love learning!

I teach from the comfort of my home, which gives me a lot of flexibility as my family life is very busy. We are a family of four - my husband, my son, 6 and my daughter, 15. We immigrated to Canada in 2010 and settled in beautiful Vancouver, BC. We then moved to Manitoba, where my husband is studying. We love travelling, spending time together and watch family movies!

When it comes to teaching, I strongly believe that the most successful teachers are those, who develop strong relationships based on their students' passions and support lifelong learning of their students!

The purpose of this blog is to collect together all my findings, a-ha moments and some of the tasks that I've been working on during my ESL program at the University of Manitoba. My main goal as a student is to learn the fundamentals of teaching English as a second language, to learn a variety of approaches I can take to make learning more effective and enjoyable, to learn to use technology in the classroom and be better at lesson planning.

My favourite quote - "The good teacher explains, the great teacher inspires!"

Thank you for visiting!
